Stoke Friendly Moved From Turf Moor

Posted on: Fri 18 Jun 2010

Burnley's pre-season friendly against Stoke City will NOT now be played at Turf Moor.

Major pitch reconstruction is taking place at Turf Moor, with a new £750,000 Desso Grassmaster surface being installed.

However, there remains uncertainty over the establishment of the new surface for competitive action by the time of the scheduled friendly with Stoke, on Saturday, July 31.

In the interests of both parties, it has therefore been decided to seek a new venue.

Following discussions involving both clubs, the friendly will now take place at Huddersfield Town's Galpharm Stadium (3pm KO).

Burnley Football Club would like to place on record our thanks to Huddersfield for allowing us to stage the game.

We would also like to apologise to supporters for any inconvenience caused.

Further details and admission prices will follow at a later date.
