Burnley To Wear Black Armbands

Posted on: Thu 04 Mar 2010

The players of Burnley Football Club will wear black armbands in the next two matches.

The Clarets players have asked to wear the armbands at Arsenal on Saturday in support of young striker Alex MacDonald and in memory of his mother, Janette Fackrell, who tragically died last week, aged just 40.

Black armbands will also be worn at Turf Moor for next Wednesday's Premier League game against Stoke City, in honour of former goalkeeping great Adam Blacklaw, who died at the weekend aged 72, and also again in support of Alex.

One minute's applause will take place ahead of Wednesday's game to honour Adam and in memory of Janette.
