Posted on: Fri 19 Feb 2010

Kevin McDonald will continue his bid to help Scotland reach the finals of the European under-21 Championships following his call-up to face Azerbaijan next month.

The Clarets' midfielder has been included in Billy Stark's squad for the qualifier at Falkirk on March 2 (kick-off 7.30pm).

Brian Easton, who is currently on loan from the Clarets to former club Hamilton Academicals, has also been selected.

Scotland are currently second in their qualifying group, one point behind leaders Austria with a game in hand.

The ten group winners and seven best runners-up will play off to join hosts Denmark in the finals in 2011.

Meanwhile, Clarets' defender Kevin Strong has been called up by the Republic of Ireland for their under-21 qualifier against Armenia in Dublin on March 3 (kick-off 7.30pm).

The Irish are still seeking their first group win.
