Brian Laws is ready to face his biggest challenge yet as Burnley boss; an elusive away win!

The Clarets have picked up a solitary point on their travels this season, a thrilling draw at Manchester City their only success in 12 attempts.

But after posting a vital three points at the weekend with a first league win in three months against West Ham United, Laws is now turning his attentions to transforming that dismal away form.

Laws, who on Monday was presented with a bottle of champagne by staff at the club to mark his first win as a Premier League boss, added: "We still have to lift the players: win, lose or draw.

"Naturally confidence is raised by results and everyone has been waiting for a win since October and that is a long, long time in any league, let along the Premier League.

"At the bottom of the league you have to get accustomed to not winning many games, but hopefully now we've got one they will be like buses.

"You wait and wait and then two or three come along at once, so my next challenge is an away win."

Laws has been busy accentuating the positives following the nail-biting, but fully deserved victory over West Ham.

Prozone stats showed the Clarets had more possession and covered more ground than the Londoners.

And although he admitted to a long overdue element of luck, with the Hammers spurning several good chances to earn a point from Turf Moor, he insisted the confidence gained form the result was the biggest weapon in his armoury.

He insisted: "You have to keep drumming away at the players because the only way to start believing is by getting results.

"They are human beings and confidence is a major factor, so once they start tasting the wins again, then they know all the elements needed to raise the bar and keep raising it.

The whole town has been lifted by Saturday's result and the players will have an extra spring in their step now.

"They feel 10 inches taller and take all the positivity into the next game and I think we will see the benefits of that on Tuesday."
