Youth Team players Ntumba Massanka and Waqas Azam delighted youngsters at Sycamore United Football Club after representing Burnley Football club at a recent training session.

In a bid to support local grassroots football, the pair gave up their time for the junior side and even helped to coach two of the teams within their setup.

And such stellar work in the community is something that has been welcomed by Burnley’s Academy Head of Educational Welfare Pat McKiernan.

He said: “It’s great to see the youth players donating their time to help local clubs in the area.

“We pride ourselves on being a community club and the fact that our younger players are willing to give up their own time to attend events like this is testament to that.

“A lot of our youth team will have played junior football before being spotted by Academy teams so it just goes to show the importance of grassroots.”

Both of the scholars will represent the U18 side in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 26th July against Preston North End.
